With a compiler that may on the odd occasion produce some duff code it is important to be able to look at the .asm files a see why the compiled code doesn't do what you expect. I'm just about to get my programmer working with 16bit parts so I'll be interested in seeing how SDCC performs. I took a look at the code it produced for 14bit parts a month or so back :-( Peter
