Yes I am! Installing now but it is removing libqt3-dev so hope that
doesm't mess anything else up.

That solved the QT error! Now it fails with:
________
checking for KDE... configure: error:
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will
fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!
____

I tried with --prefix=/usr/local and --prefix=$HOME (which has a .kde
dir) and get the same error. Checked the configure --help but it
desn't have any info concerning what "KDE headers" its looking for.

./configure --prefix=/usr/local --with-kde-dir=/usr/lib/kde3
or
./configure --prefix=$HOME --with-kde-dir=/usr/lib/kde3

with and without the "--with-kde-dir" didn't help either.

I guess this is what I get for not installing the complete KDE package.

I already had kate ver 3.3.2-1 installed so it didn't, on debian, pull in the
required qt libs.

That wasn't required after I got libqt3-mt-dev installed.

Is there another option for finding the KDE Headers?

The kde3 stuff in debian is in /usr/libkde3 and /etc/kde3. I don't
think I want --prefix in either one.

Thanks David
