Not really related but I am working on the Linux support of PICkit 2. PICkit 2 is a nice small USB programmer. The source code is in the CDs shipped with it. The cost is also quite reasonable if not courting the shipment. I have made some changes to usb_pickit (for PICKit 1) to adapt it to PICkit 2. I will post the code once it starts to work with my Linux box (and Windows as well). I just received it two day ago though so I need to iron out some problems. I am as well very new to Linux programming but I do not need to do too much since usb_pickit is already quite good.
