I also use Eagle, and find it an excellent product. It's not open source, but they do have something of the community feel, in that (at least on www.cadsoft.de) there are open repositories of component libraries and add-on tools provided by users. I've used it both for home etching (laser printer on transparencies) and to produce gerbers for a professional PCB house. -- Rob Pearce
