Microchip AN724 compiled by SDCC ?

Hello,

I tried to compile AN724 ping.c code for simple PPP connection but got into troubles with code size. In PDF there is a note about 2170 words of code.

After I ( ...ported it and... ) compiled it I got last code cell 0xd27 - it is 3367words even with "static" functions. It can't fit into single code page...

Did anybody try AN724 with SDCC ? What results did you get ?
