[OT]: Attempting to reset airbag light on Skoda 2011 TDI 125 using OBDLink MX+ (or CX)

Any OBD2 VAG (Skoda related) airbag light reset gurus here.

Q: Shouldn't this be on an automotive group?
    Surely this is trivial?
A: I'd have expected so :-(

I'm attempting to reset airbag light on a friend's Skoda 2011 TDI 125 using
a Scantools OBDLink MX+ (or CX) OBD2 interface.
I can access an impressive range of vehicle features.
(As this is the first time I've tried, I'm impressed).

I find that airbag reset and diagnostic function will apparently require
"something more".
Skoda is part of the VAG vehicles group (VW, Audi, ...).
I apparently need appropriate VAG add on software.

Finding something at a half sensible prive has so far been challenging.
One program offers a 3 day free trial then about $10 (maybe E10) a week and
about E30 to 40 a month.
It may work.
It may need more than 3 days as the car was stolen and recovered and the
light is most likely on because the miscreants tried to remove the left
front door trim (which includes an airbag sensor) - presumably to fit a
speaker or maybe some of the light strings that they left in the car. As a
one off favour I'd hope not to spend much. There may be no choice?

Confirmation emails from a forum I tried to join do not reach me.
No other sites seem to point to anything useful enough.

Comment:  Not having looked at OBD2 capabilities before I am impressed by
what can be done and beyond appalled that this is what IS being done :-).
