Re: Old, bad, destroyed electronic components

Generally, I'm looking for small to medium components.  Leaded resistors, caps, through hole ICs, small transformers, etc.  And medium components like TV flyback transformers, IF cans, even vacuum tubes, etc.  The more burnt or shorted or trashed the component, the better.  This will do to start.   Let me know the weight of what you have so I can get a shipping cost, and I'll let you know if I can go further.  I'm located in the Houston area.  Where are you?

About the surprise box, I am familiar with them.  But I hesitate using functional parts, because when I finish my experiment, they would be trashed.  I'd rather use parts that are junk already.

What total volume are you looking for and are you looking for larger or
smaller parts?

Depending on what you want,  I might have some stuff you can have that I've
been gong to figure out how to get rid of (ebay, trash, gift).  I'd have to
check at home about what is easy to quickly grab and I'm at CES this week.

Also,  look at the surprise boxes available from electronic goldmine.  They
are often around $5-10 and have a lot of components in each box.   I get
the impression they just throw components they have too few to sell
otherwise into a bin and mix them and put in boxes.
