Picture a grid of 10x10 NE2 lamps, mounted in holes in a wooden board. What I'm after is a good representation of the E-Field around a device. Roughly 400 kHz and 10kV..60kV I am worrying over what would distort the field the least. All leads clipped and just little gas tubes with metal bits inside? All leads connected and grounded with minimal wire? All leads connected to strips of copper tape which is grounded? I think the first one is the least distortion to the field, and least sensitive. Not sure which way to order the other two. Opinions?
