Re: SMD soldering (off topic)

Keep the iron tip away from superglue (cyanoacrylate). When heated, the
fumes are nasty. Anyway, glue is not needed.
If must be glued, try thermal glue. Can be removed without damage to the
board!

My recipe for smd work/rework:  find a couple of very fine tweezers.
Dentist´s or surgeon style are the best, but can be chinese made. Find a
very fine tip soldering iron, about 15W, and use very fine solder wire (I
use Ersa 0.5mm)
Place the smd part in place on the fluxed pcb, hold it down with the tweezer
tip, and touch two opposite corners pads with a very small drop of solder in
the iron.
After that, the part is fixed, but can easily be reoriented if necessary.
Then go on soldering the other pads.
After finishing, re-solder the fist two.
Flux is a must, as is good quality solder
To remove parts: if you need to keep the board, can cut away the leads and
remove one by one.
If you need to keep the part, use soldering iron tweezers.
