Gentlemen - For those of you designing platforms around the DS87C400 CPU: I am having a problem with a '400 CPU and an AMD flash memory. I connected the flash device hardware /RESET line to the /RSTOL on the CPU. Sounds good, right? Problem is, the flash requires some time after reset before it may be read (about 50us), and the CPU starts reading flash looking for user code pretty soon after reset ends. I am not entirely sure yet, but I think this may be a problem! Of course, others have had trouble when connecting the PHY reset to this pin because the PHY has to be running before the CPU comes out of reset. Beware using the '400 /RSTOL pin unless you are sure the peripheral can be ready for access in time! Chris Fox BTW: I still have four new TINI 72 PIN 1M SIMMs for sale, now marked down to $50 each.
