Those of you designing around the 80C400 or 80C390 CPUs:

Dallas/MAXIM is soon to release the DS1087 dithered oscillator at 18.432
MHz, +/- 2% dither. The part numbers will be:

Bulk parts        DS1087LU-4CL
T&R Parts         DS1087LU-4CL/T&R

If you use the DS1087LU in place of the crystal and caps in your design,
the frequency of all the clocks in the system will vary +/- 2%, which
reduces FCC/CE peak emissions by 10:1 or more. The dither is not enough
to cause a problem for serial communications even at 115200 baud. I am
using this oscillator in my '400 based 74MHz system and doing RS485 at
115200 baud with no problems at all. The center frequency is accurate to
within 1%. Since the TINI system uses an external real time clock,
time-of-day timing is not an issue.
