Mike - having looked at the source code of the PPP libraries and there does
seem to be support for client LCP echo.  Have a look at LCP.java from the
modules source file to see.

I haven't tested it myself.  On another point - is there any way from the
CLIENT end (ie from the TINI) to test to see if the connection with the
server is still active.  Ie is there a way to send an echo to the server
from the client.
