3.3V for 1-wire MAC chip

Dear all,
Referring to http://lists.dalsemi.com/maillists/tini/2003-July/028088.html,
it seems you can connect the DS2502-E48 directly to OW (pin 99) of the
DS80C400, with a pullup of 2.2K to a 3.3V supply.

OW o-----------+------> to Data pin of DS2502-E48
And further, the OWSTP can be left unconnected. This is assuming I have
only one 1-wire device and I will never need to program it; only read the
MAC address from it.
Is this correct ?
