Small memory configuration

Hello,
I have some question about memory usage with DS80C400
I use C with keil, and I need network (so task scheduler, ... and
possibly netboot). I can see in datasheet that DS80C400 requires 64kB
SRAM at address 0h in order to use the ROM firmware.
Does all this memory really necessary and why ? If so, this means I
can't declare any variable into this 64kB memory ? Any mean to reduce
the memory used ?
The init_rom() function takes 2 parameters, RAM_START and RAM_END. This
zone is for dynamic memory allocation, right ? is there anything else
inside ? In other words, If I didn't use malloc / free, could it be
reduced to 0 ?
Last question : does the http library be released soon ? (date ?)
