Golly-Geee.... Brian; there is such a wealth of information that are
archived in the TINI SIG that the TINI "newbies" get refered to, it would be
a real shame to lose all that information from years of very good answers to
TINI (and 1-Wire) problems. Why not continue to host the archives? A
second thought would be to put the archive on CD-ROM, and sell it for a
small fee.

I think that you have a very powerful technical support resource in the
archives, that needs to be preserved.

Just my 2 cents! Best regards, Kelly Smith

Subject: [1-wire]ANNOUNCEMENT: New Discussion Forum

ANNOUNCEMENT:

Dallas Semiconductor MAXIM will be introducing a new discussion forum. The
new forum is slated to replace the Dallas Semiconductor Special Interest
E-mail Groups listed here:
http://lists.dalsemi.com.

These include:
1-wire-software-development
Thermochron
Weather
TINI
Java-powered-ibutton

The new forum is scheduled to go "live" on May 10. The mailing list(s) you
currently belong to will continue to function normally until May 31, after
which, the current e-mail lists will be shut down in favor of the new
discussion forum.

The e-mail archives of the current e-mail groups will continue to be made
available after May 31 to allow searching for hardware/software answers in
previously posted threads.

The software running the new discussion forum will be a commercial package
from:
http://www.invisionboard.com/. (invisionboard.com offers a walkthrough tour
and a demo of an example discussion forum).

As to the new structure of the forum, it has been proposed to break up the
forum into two sections, one belonging to "1-Wire and iButton" and the other
belonging to "Microcontrollers". Under each section, the following "root
threads" have been proposed:

1-Wire and iButton
==================
   -General
   -Hardware
   -Software
   -Weather

Microcontrollers
================
   -General
   -Hardware
   -Software
   -TINI

Watch this list for further details and announcements in the coming weeks.

Regards,
--Brian Hindman,
Dallas Semiconductor MAXIM.
