Dear "J" - Re: "Could the TINI VModem implementation be used for this?Where does one find a cellular service provider for this kind of data transmission? Do I need GPRS, or would something else be more cost effective? Would a pager service work?" There was a TINI side application that was released with the press release from Motorola phone (WAP) that was configured to use a Nextel iDen i85 phone as a modem, on TINI's serial0. Serial1 was configured for use with the X10 power-line controller (transceiver) CM11A module. I can zip this and send it to you off-list, if you like. The web-page for the press release is long-gone, 'else I would have referenced that. Jeremy Kongs (DalSemi Engineer) wrote the application as far as I can recall. They (DalSemi Internet Marketing) should re-post it on their web-site (Hello Moe!). Anyway, (1) The VModem "should work", but TINI resources are a bit "constrained" to do imaging as well as the PPP connect\MODEM handeling. (2) Not to be trite, but open your telephone book in your area for cellular service providers. (3) I think WAP is the way to go, and serve-up the "W" version of HTML to it (it starts looking like a "card-deck" on the WAP phones display (i.e., flipping through the "cards")). Real cumbersome (translation = pain-in-the-A*S)! (4) A pager service won't be able to render images for you. Did you look at Tom Cargill's StikClick for TINI that I suggested, and just receive a servlet (or better yet, let a PC run a TINI downloaded applet)? I want to be able to send a few frames of still images at a time from a remote security camera to my home computer about 200 miles away. I would like to have the TINI module automatically dial via PPP and wireless hookup and transfer the image data to a waiting computer. I have seen a number of postings here about using the TINI with cell or pager modems, but I'm coming up a little short of development details and sources of the OEM parts or modules. Any suggestions or links would be very helpful.} __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Friends. Fun. Try the all-new Yahoo!
