Hi Everyone, I have seen this question come up before on the list, but I haven't really seen a satisfactory response so I thought I would post it again... I understand how to put a (java) program into flash but I would also like to store other supporting files there (such as a web page, an applet, small images, system parameters file). What I would like to do is be able to clear the RAM at reboot and then rebuild/restore the file system from flash. Is this an easy thing to do? I have not come across any java routines to achieve this although I feel that support for this should be provided. Also I would like to be able to store parameters in flash that can be recovered when the system is rebooted. These parameters would only be stored perhaps once at the beginning of the life of the product. The reasons for doing the above are: 1. Hopefully our product will be used for 10+ years and during that time may be cycled on and off a few times. If the RAM battery backup fails (likely after 10+ years) then if everything is restored from flash it doesn't really matter. 2. The system should boot up quicker if we don't have to sort out the RAM when we reboot (i.e. just clear it and restore everything from flash). Dallas - are there any plans to add java support for doing things with the flash? I have seen a number of people asking for similar things to the above. Thank you, Andy Page, Unipower Europe Limited, U.K. _______________________________________________ TINI mailing list TINI-6tN4nzCoH/[email protected] To UNSUBSCRIBE, edit your profile, or see list archives: http://lists.dalsemi.com/mailman/listinfo/tini
