Hi uClinux (Kernel 2.6) is up and running on my COBRA5282-Board. When launched from dBUG using the "go 10000"-command it produces an output with many lines, most of which I do not really understand. Let me explain this on a excerpt of these "cryptic" lines. > RAMDISK driver initialized: 16 RAM disks of 4096K size 1024 blocksize > FEC ENET Version 0.2 > fec: PHY @ 0x1f, ID 0x20005c30 -- unknown PHY! > eth0: ethernet 00:cf:52:82:cf:01 > uclinux[mtd]: RAM probe address=0x15e2d4 size=0xc7000 > Creating 1 MTD partitions on "RAM": > 0x00000000-0x000c7000 : "ROMfs" > Firstly a general question: 0) Where can I find a systematic description of the meaning of these outputs? (such a doc would render the following questions obsolete). More specific: 1) RAMDISK. According to the df-command it has 115 blocks of 1K, hence 117'760 bytes. But 16 * 4096 = 65536. What then does this message try to tell me? 2) unknown PHY! Is this an error or just an information? 3) RAM probe address. What is this good for? 4) ROMfs. Which flash does it use (external or internal)? Are these relative addresses? According to the tech. doc of the board, DRAM is at these low addresses. Would be nice to get an answer on all these questions. Thank you and best regards Bob -- ------------------------------ Bob Brusa BRUSAG Sensorik & messtechn.
