the specification of the flash in the MPC565/566 states that it can be programmed and erased up to a minimum of 1000 times. this means that if you program and erase the device 1000 times, the data retention will be at least 10 years (if the device is kept at an average temperature of 125C for the 10 years) or 15 years (if the average temperature that the device sees is less than 85C). typically, you can program and erase the flash many, many more times than that and still have good data retention. this device is designed for automotive applications that do see an average temperature of the device greater than 85 degrees Celsius. Keep in mind that the smallest area of the flash that can be erased at one time is 16K, 48K, or 64K. this is a lot of memory if you are just trying to save 1 value. randy > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] > On Behalf Of crbtfp > > Thank you Allan, I realize about the timing so that's I'm worrying > about how many times can I write to flash, In manual show only 1000 > times. > ----------------------------------------------------------- To learn more about Freescale Microcontrollers, please visit http://www.freescale.com/mcu Yahoo!
