RE: Generating an external interrupt

There are two halves to this - setting up the IRQ pin correctly and then handling the interrupt.

To see which half is the problem, check the SIPEND register to see if the IRQ5 bit is set. If it is, check that MSR[EE] is set and SIMASK is set correctly to allow the interrupt, also UMCR[IRQMUX].

If not, check the following registers - SIEL and SIUMCR[MLRC].

If you go for edge triggered, make sure you have an edge on the IRQ5 pin.

Hi there,

I'd like to use the MPC 565 USIU external interrupt 5 pin to generate an 
interrupt.
The SGPIO control register bit for this input is 0. (configured as input) The SIMASK2 register bit is also 1 and the edge level bit is also 1 for 
edge triggered.
Nevertheless I get no interrupt.
Is there someone who has a little clue for this problem ?
