MPC555 speed versus PentiumMMX

Hello- my first post here. I trying to get a handle on the relative
performance of a MPC 555 or 565 with respect to an early Pentium,
specifically a 266 MMX unit with 66MHz FSB. I am using Mathworks
Simulink and RTW and xPC Target right now, but want to use a "real"
embedded processor. I need a RS-232 channel and 1 or 2 (ideally) CAN
channels, and a modest amount of directly connected A/D and DI/O. I am
not done developing, but in the next month or so I need to understand
if a MPC5XX will be fast enough. As for the task-I am mostly solving a
kinematic model in realtime. Any opinions? I can find data on MIPS for
the two, and it looks like a 565 at  ~89MIPS is ~40% as fast as that
Pentimum 266. This might be tolerable. I suspect that A/D and CAN will
use less overhead as they are "native", not ISA bus add-ons for a
Pentium, although that kinematics model is the real hog.

Anyone have experience going from xPC target to MPC555 with RTW, or
have an opinion on relative performance?
