You have to write to USIU.SIMASK.R to enable the interrupt level you set
PIT to when you wrote to USIU.PISCR.R.

I'm almost certain there is an app note on PIT and DEC on the Freescale
site.

Regarding the function you previously posted for confirmation - if you
are not generating a PIT interrupt and therefor not executing this
routine, it can't be your source of error.

Dear allan

Have you set MSR[EE] to allow interrupts? Have you set PIT interrupt
priority high enough to get past present interrupt mask level?

PIT interrupt high enough to get past present interrupt mask level.
