there is no way to determine the speed of the device without reading the marking on the top of the part.

We are building a batch of MPC561-based cards, some of which will have 40
MHz MPC561 chips, and others will have 56 MHz versions.  Is there any way to
tell which version the chip is (from the program, I mean, rather than by
reading the label!)
