Hi Striphathy,

My apology for the delay in responding. I tried to find a solution but
you should write to [email protected] so that this can be tracked
in our database, because more information is needed as we can not
completely understand what you want to do and which version of
CodeWarrior you are using.

You can try this... create a stationery project with CodeWarrior wizard,
select your board/processor/remote connection and perform a
Debug->Connect. After connecting you can view the registers and from the
PVR register value you can figure out the processor revision. Then you
can perform debug sessions in RAM or ROM and write the flash.

Here are the PVR register details:

Processor Version Register Bit Descriptions
Bit(s) Name Description
0:15 VERSION
A 16-bit number that identifies the version of the processor and of the
PowerPC architecture. MPC555 / MPC556 value is 0x0002. 16:31 REVISION A
16-bit number that distinguishes between various releases of a
particular version. The MPC555 / MPC556 value is 0x0020.

Again, this is probably something we need a full service request report
on. They should be in the Release Notes\Contacting Metrowerks\e-mail
forms folder or something like that.

Thanks,

Ron

Subject: [MPC500] want to know the revision of mpc555( need more info)

Dear members

Randy, thanks for your help. i checked the AN2000 and found that my
chip is Rev. K3. But the problem is that in the codewarrior files
flash\trd_opts.h they have given only until for G revision. They
haven't provided for K3 revision. So i could not select my
corresponding revision chip. Since you told that G revision is a older
version of the chip and is not compatible with later versions, will I
be able to generate the binary file to program into my internal flash
by changing the value to 1 in G revision. If I could not do so is
there any fix for this problem. Where can i find the fix for this one.
Whom should i contact for this problem. Is it the metrowerks which
supplies the code warrior or the axiom manufacturers who supply the
mpc555 chip.

I would appreciate if you can help me in this regard
sripathy
