Serial Data using CodeWarrior

Hi All

Here's my problem. I am using CodeWarrior Ver 8.1 and programming an 
MPC565 processor. I have my project transmitting serial data using 
the function `printf()' but this appears to be in a polled mode, I 
was hoping to do this under interrupt. Now in the past (and not using 
CodeWarrior!) if I wanted use printf() to produce serial data out 
under interrupt I would purely have rewritten putc() to write to a 
buffer and then write an interrupt routine to service this buffer.

The problem is how on earth do I do this in the CodeWarrior 
environment? How would I redefine putc()..in which project would it 
reside? Blah…blah…blah

Surely this should be pretty simple but everything I try to do with 
CodeWarrior seems to be sooooo complicated.

Are there any good books out there that describe using CodeWarrior in 
an embedded environment with no OS……just a processor! 

By the way I have an Axiom CMD-565 development board.

PS: I'm OK with the interrupt side of things. It's just the mechanism 
to change what printf() does in the MSL
