I can't help you with gdb, but I can suggest two alternatives: 1) let the BAM code run and it will setup the MMU default values allowing you to see the peripheral bridges. To do this, allow the PC to go to its reset value of 0xfffffffc, issue a 'go' command from your debugger, then a 'stop'. The BAM should have executed and setup the MMU, however it may also have set the watchdog so you may only get about 20seconds before the part resets. 2) Go to freescale.com and get onto the MPC5554 web page. Download the GAP utility. This is an easy to use, free, assembler level debugger from Freescale and has buttons to allow you to setup the mmu, init SRAM, etc. It won't help you run with gdb, but is a possible alternative and includes simple scripting, memory windows, s-record download, etc. If you want flash program, download the flasher utility while you're at it. Both of these tools are compatible with P&E paralel and USB wigglers plus the Magraigor parallel wiggler. - Allan ________________________________ From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Robert Morin Sent: Friday, September 08, 2006 10:42 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [MPC500] MPC5554 gdb problem Hi everyone, I am trying to access Bridge A register with gdb and a jtag but it's not working. For what I can see, I need to program the TLBs. It's possible to load MAS0..4 but there is no way to execute the "tlbwe" except by loading a program in internal SRAM and then executing it. I check and with Trace32 and Probe, there is a special instruction called "tlbwe ...." instruction to do it. Any way to do it with gdb ? Thanks.
