the problem is that since the MMU entries must be modified by executing code, someone must write an extension to GDB to allow for the the MASx SPRs to be written and then cause the tlb write instruction to be executed. This is type of command is added to the debugger by debugger companies, but GDB is user supported, so someone must write an extension to GDB to do this operation. GDB is not supported directly by Freescale. there is a code limited version of the P&E debugger (only supported with the P&E hardware interfaces - http://www.pemicro.com) available for free from the P&E Micro web site. It is limited to debugging 64K of code however. As Allan mentioned, Freescale does have a free assembly level debugger and flash programmer available for download on the Freescale web site (http://www.freescale.com/mpc55xx). randy ________________________________ From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Robert Morin Sent: Tuesday, September 12, 2006 8:36 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [MPC500] Re: MPC5554 gdb problem Thanks for the info. I wrote a small program that is loaded in internal SRAM and I run it to enable all the required TLBs, then I load my program.
