TY for all those years since the 1990s -- well done.

A just now recalled that side effect (if you like) this list 
experienced; the time period with controversy over the name 
"teaparty.net". I guess all parties are over at some point.

I joined this list in the late 1990s (1998 I think) and it was always a 
place with extremely high SNR. All the way up 'til now. Although I 
didn't contribute at the level of TMAC and a few others (due to lack of 
time) I always read the posts and got useful knowledge for my work out 
of >50% of them.  My own archive of saved posts has been used from time 
to time to search for technical detailed information.  That's rather 
unique IMO for a mailing list of this vintage.
