I guess all parties are over at some point. I joined this list in the late 1990s (1998 I think) and it was always a place with extremely high SNR. All the way up 'til now. Although I didn't contribute at the level of TMAC and a few others (due to lack of time) I always read the posts and got useful knowledge for my work out of >50% of them. My own archive of saved posts has been used from time to time to search for technical detailed information. That's rather unique IMO for a mailing list of this vintage.
