Hi, I had so much trouble with CF with my linux, so I want to put leaf in a CF to prove that my openbrick actually can boot from it. I have Redhat 7.3 with us english & keyboard support, bootable from lilo on my master hard drive, with /dev/hda1 as /boot, /dev/hda2 as /. I followed the install-cf-leaf.sh to install leaf.tgz on my 64MB CF which uses Hitachi controller, thru PC adapter at /dev/hde1 My install-shared.sh as follow: CF_TGZ_DIR=/home/bill/leafCF_IMG_DIR=/home/bill/leafCF_DEVICE=/dev/hdeCF_MOUNT_POINT=/mnt/cf I changed one line in install-cf-leaf.sh as follow: lilo -v -b /dev/hde1 leaf.tgz -C ./lilo.conf The RH lilo compliants about keytable and menu-scheme so I have to take off those two lines. BTW, I donot know how/where to get the us.klt file. My lilo.conf as follow: disk=/dev/hdeboot=/dev/hde1 After running the lilo, my get an extra copy of /boot/boot.2101 in my hard drive. Why? I thouhgt I was installing lilo on CF? Then I shutdown my RH, toke off the master HD, set the CF2 jumper to master since I want to boot from CF now. Toke off my CF in PC card. Put CF in CF slot. power up, set BIOS drive C with the auto detected CF parameters in LBA. The boot process hangs after printing "LI" on my console. What did I do wrong? Is it because I am using RH's lilo? Do I have to install Debian as my devleopment platform before following the steps to use those images, e.g. mini-debian, LEAF, to make it into CF? Together we make this a better world to live! [email protected] --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. Bingo.
