The easiest way for you to proceed is
    - copy a Mandrake installer into a compact flash with
       cat network.img > /dev/sda (if /dev/sda is the device of your
compact flash reader)
    - do as usual to install Mandrake on your compact flash

Another method is to use umigumi.  The latest version is at

http://www.openbrick.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/umigumi/

Umigumi includes both an installer (umigumi) and a mini distribution
builder (umibuilder). For example, typing

./umibuilder -ba vpn

will build and install a VPN setup on a compact flash.
