I had some contact with TVIA company. Basically, there is little to 
expect from them unless you pay a lot. For my applications, I use the 
tvia driver a lot for video , game and for vnc thin client.

However, vesa provides much better result in other cases from rendering 
point of view.

Another solution which I researched for some time was kernel fb driver. 
I could get it work but it is actually not faster than VESA.
