   Okay: what I'm saying is that the OpenBrick hardware doesn't have this as 
an option _that I know of_.  Other hardware, such as Sun Netra-X1 machines 
have LOM [Lights-Out-Management] which will let you boot/reboot the machine 
from a local login on the serial port, like from a dumb terminal or a 
terminal server.
   As OpenBrick hardware is x86 compatible and that's not a standard feature 
of x86's, I doubt they have what you're looking for here.

   That's right.

   Out of curiosity: what is generating the requirement that the bootup text 
go to the serial port?
