I have used a USB-Ethernet Adapter for years, and recently am using a PCMCIA
Ethernet Card. Thus you have the capability of up to 4 Ethernets on the 
older,
simpler OpenBrick.  I happen to use NetBSD, simply because it has a small
footprint, but I see no problem with any *BSD or Linux. You'll probably 
find more
help with Linux, but not from me :-)
