Good afternoon. Let me start out by saying I'm a total *newb* to the Openbrick world, and having come over to Linux from the Microsoft world about a year ago. I still consider myself a neophyte. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time. Here's my situation. I was recently given the opportunity to evaluate an OpenBrick E 520 E with no hard drive and a 256meg CF card. ( http://www,storever.com <http://www,storever.com/> ) I had assumed that all settings were generic inside the box, but lo and behold, someone had customized the LRP packages, boot params, etc. to the point that I was barely able to boot. After much pain and suffering to reconfigure, (as well as documentation hunting, setup tips) I decided to go ahead and try to reload the CF card via the posted method 3 at: http://www.openbrick.org/en/Members/jp/ihnstall.stx/view I have been unable to get the brick to boot off the CF card. Here's my setup: Dell machine with Red Hat Linux and the Sandisk card reader for file transfers. And scripts. All good to go there. I can read the CF, and copy files back and forth. My install-shared.sh looks like this: CF_TGZ_DIR=/leafinstall/ CF_IMG_DIR=/leafinstall/ CF_MOUNT_POINT=/mnt/flash/Openbrick/cf I get "already" mounted errors, and then a fatal error, but it appears the files transfer anyway. I just can't seem to get the sucker to boot. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have since formatted the CF so I can start fresh. Thank you, David Nist
