For Debian, following is what I do. - Create the file /etc/modutils/ide and put the following line into it: options ide-mod options="hdc=flash hdd=flash" - Run update-modules - Redo the initrd via mkinitrd And then ask Andre Hedrix to fix his IDE driver.
