   I had a number of similar problems along these lines.  The BIOS on the 
OpenBrick-E that I have at home has a strange bug concerning the "Boot Other 
Device" option under the "Advanced BIOS Features" section.  Hitting the ENTER 
button on it seems to cause a lockup.  [This seems not to be a problem with a 
very similar OpenBrick-E that I have here at work, however.]  I'll have to 
check the BIOS versions between the two and see if there's a difference.
   On the "buggy" BIOS I had at home, hitting the numpad + and - keys changed 
the "Boot Other Device" option without a lockup.

   So - what I did was to disable the "Boot Other Device" and that seemed to 
get around the glitch of the OpenBrick always looking for the old setting for 
what device to boot to.

   I was able to boot an OpenBrick-E to a Sony USB floppy drive.
