serial port A problem

Hi guys im using the rabbit 5000 and have some issues with the serial port A. I plugged in a serial device on the named port but the rabbit does not respond to the message. Actually im using all four serial ports and all devices are working. I swapped them.

Could this have something to do with my board RCM5700 Standart Development Kit.As Im concerned this board uses the serial port for debbugging. How can I disable this functionallity.
