I agree with Matthew, and I see his point of view clearly. I would not want a business to benefit directly from comments our group members make. I quote "But when I succeed, it also benefits the Embedded Systems community: I invest a good chunk of the advertising revenues to improve the site, attract more bloggers and pay them better, offer rewards for code snippets, etc.". This shows it IS all about pushing revenue to their site, and not about information. I quote "So at the end of the day, supporting the request to make the archives private is supporting a website devoted to helping embedded systems experts by offering good and useful content". So I gather from this statement that the information our members offer is NOT GOOD OR USEFUL, unless it is accessed or offered through this other site? I have been using http://www.embedded.com/ for years and do not see a use for another embedded source. I have been developing with Rabbit, Microchip, ARM, TI, Motorola, Zilog, Intel, and other china MPU/CPU's, for commercial, DOD, and consumer products for over 35 years. I see no group benefit of making the Rabbit site private. Privatization is an exclusionary tactic.
