I have never used "exit()" to restart a Rabbit, so I can't explain why it doesn't work. What I have always done, and it has worked every time, is to use the watchdog.

int nWdID;

nWdID = VdGetFreeWd(16); // 1-second watchdog.

while(1);

I have a need to restart the software on RCM6750. I am calling exit(0) and 4 out of 5 times this works fine. I'm trying to figure out why 1 out of 5 times the program never exits, or possibly it exits and never restarts - I issue exit(0) an
d it dies, non responsive until I reset it with the reset button. I am not modifying the watchdog, so it is just using the default virtual driver.

Any ideas what could be wrong?
