I agree overall with your observations.  I use Adobe Photoshop Album
and would love to see the ability to have Photoshop Album create an
ECP Script that would run a slide show via the HD1000.  I have sent
Adobe a request to add this feature, but naturally I don't expect them to.

I don't know if you have delved into the ECP commands, but you could
write a simple ECP Script that would do your slide shows and would
not require you to rename all your images to get them to play in your
selected order.  You can also take advantage of the Zoom and Pan to
add some additional effects to your slides shows as well as play music.
