Hi Gregory,

You shouldn't be having any of these issues.

>>> 1) my hd1000 requires somewhat frequent rebooting, rarely can it go the
This is not normal. We run the nature art pack for weeks at a time in the
Roku lobby with no reboot required. How many network shares to you have
mounted? How many pcs are on your network? Try with the sound off and/or
no network shares mounted to see if this helps to isolate the problem. Use
setup/artpacks to turn off or on sound.

The most common cause (by far) of a crashing or hung Roku HD1000 is low
memory. This happens when there are lots of mounted shares and too much
going on (music and video or photos, etc.).

The second most common cause is the network discovery cron job taking too
long because you have an unusual or unsupported or very large network.

We are working on fixing both in our next software updates, but most users
won't encounter these problems with the latest software. (1.5.18)

>>> 2) can an external hard drive be connected to the roku? if so, what
Not via USB. But you can add a NAS drive that support SMB (windows file
sharing) shares.

>>> 3) i cannot get my hd1000 on my wireless network, i am using the
supplied...
Check out the network known issues FAQ in the support section of our web
site. If that doesn't help, please list your symptoms (what doesn't work)
and we'll try and figure it out.

Anthony
