Buffallo Linkstation & IOGEAR BOSS

I am tired of needing to turn on my computer to have the ROKU access files that 
I have.

I understand that there is a way to set up share folders on a Buffallo 
Linkstation & IOGEAR Boss.  These are storage solutions you just attach to your 
network and should free you from needing your PC to access photos and music. 
Has anyone tried this?  Is my assumption that it would work with the ROKU 
correct?  I want to by the Buffallo Linkstation.
