Yes, we are awfully busy putting the finishing touches on the SoundBridge,
and bringing up the production line.

To answer your questions:

One way to use SoundBridge is as a client for SlimServer.  In this case, it
is pretty much the same UI functionality as the squeezebox (which uses
slimserver), including the WiFi pocketpc web client.

It is also true that the only audio only device that plays from NAS is the
audiotron (although there are rumors that turtle beach has discontinued
support for this product).   The Roku HD1000 can of course play music from a
NAS, and at $299 it is the same price as an audiotron.

The soundbridge 1.0 software can also be controlled via telnet, but
"official" non-IR remote control support will be later this year (free
upgrade).

It is our intention over time to make the soundbridge a "universial client",
by adding support for UPnP AV servers and NAS servers.  However, our usual
disclaimers apply:  "no promises" and "no time estimates".

Now, the really cool thing about the SoundBridge is that it has another
super cool client built-in, which is still "top secret", and is one of the
reasons for the delay in shipping soundbridge.   But all will be clear
soon...
