I'm not a hardware engineer, but I think there are a number of hurdles to
supporting user-upgradable memory and thus it is unlikely.  First, there the
cost issue of using socketed memory, then there's the space issue (more room on
the board required).  Lastly and certainly not least is the fact the our current
power supply is exposed.  If we were to have an officially-sanctioned memory
upgrade path, we'd have to address this and get additional certifications (I
think).
