Streamplayer question

I have a weird problem with streamplayer 0.1d, does anyone else have the
problem and know a better workaround. The issue is I select the file and
click on "Play" and nothing happens. To make it work (and this happens all
the time) I have to launch the aquarium screen saver. Once it starts,
Streamplayer works fine, like something needs to get initialized. The
transport streams I am playing are recorded off of an AccessDTV card. I do
have a swapfile.
any suggestions ??
