Barry - I started it up, put in the ip address and clicked connect and the
program crashed - runtime error 10022 'generic error for invalid form
entry'. I tried again, this time leaving the ip address invalid and it said
socket busy disconnect first, but there's no disconnect button.

Subject: [Roku-tech] PC based helper apps

I have developed two PC (Windows) based helper apps. I am at the stage
where I could use some help in shaking them down. They are both located at
my web site www.the-gordons.net. Follow the download link on the bottom of
the home page and note the userid and password instructions.

The first app "File handler", provides via a telnet IP session, a graphical
interface to the HD-1000 Linux system. You can do all of the common file
operations in a graphical manner. In addition you can open and edit text
files with something a lot more friendly than vi. It works on all the
mounted HD-1000 volumes (flash0, flash1, flash2, flash3, flash4, and smb) a
rudimentary manual is provided. It is available as a Zip archive of a
complete setup and install package,. Written in VB6.

The second app "Art Pack Builder", allows you on a stand alone PC, (No
network required) to dynamically build an art pack through a graphical
interface. It constructs the collection in a standard Roku format, allows
for selection of the icon, music, and pictures; has preview windows and
filmstrip like editing (rudimentary). Stores the pictures in alphabetical
order after renaming them so they show in the order desired. Makes building
art packs a snap. Provided in the same format as the file handler.

I will field all questions at my emnail location [email protected], and
provide help. All I ask for is feedback.
