The former is possible, the latter might be easier for you. You can control the HD1K's smbmount options via the /etc/smbdiscovered file. Unfortunately, that file gets rewritten periodically by a cron job. So if you edit the options in /etc/smbdiscovered, you should consider removing the /etc/cron.d/smbremount file so that your edits don't get clobbered. Dave
