  Web forums suck.  Scanning messages that are delivered directly to me
  is something I can find the time to do.  Remembering to go visit some
  forum website on a regular basis and browse around isn't going to happen.
  I might do some searches if I have a problem, but I know I'll never
  remember to participate in any other way.
