I had a dead net6501-30 last september. Worked fine since I got it in October 2011, but when I was switching back and forth (trying out) m0n0wall and pfSense, it suddenly didn't want to boot anymore. Taking the power off for a few minuted made it work again, but it went worse with every reboot. I was able to enter the umanager, but it wouldn't boot anymore. So I RMA'd mine with Soekris Europe and got a new one back. The old one had the small back heatsink while the new one has a much larger blank aluminum heatsink.
