The Soekris doesn't support all CF cards. This is a known problem.
Soekris sells the SanDisk Ultra so I'd go with that. I had the same
problem as you, as have others:

According to Soekris, Kingston doesn't seem to adhere to the CF
standard all that well. One option was to set "FLASH=Secondary" in the
BIOS.
